The famous Qutub Minar is located in south Delhi. It is the oldest Delhi Fortified city. Qutub Minar is known as a “Victory Tower”. Qutb-ud-din Aibak started the making of the Qutub Minar completed by Firoz Shah Tughlaq in 1368. Qutub Minar has Five storeys, the first 3 of them are adorned with red sandstone and the next 2 with marbles and sandstone.
The Lotus Temple looks like a flower, a worship house of Baha’i. The temple was opened to the public in 1986 and has nine doors that open directly to the central hall. This temple is made with marbles and the construction of its looks like a lotus plate.
This tomb was made by the first wife of Humayun in memory of her husband. It was designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyas who was a Persian architect. This tomb is the most famous attraction in Delhi as it shows the eternal love of a wife towards her husband. The site of a tomb is near the shrine of Nizamuddin Auliya who was a famous Sufi saint.
The India Gate was made in honor of the soldiers who martyred in the
Third Anglo-Afghan War and World War One. It was made in 1931. It was named as “All Indian Memorial”. The Eternal Flame (Amar Jawan Jyoti) is just behind the arch added in 1971, in remembrance of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for their motherland. It is embellished with the names of the soldiers who died in World War One.
Agrasen Ki Baoli is a stepwell; it was thought to have been built in the 14th century at the time of the Tughlaq Dynasty. It is a multi-storied well which leads you down to the water level. Its wall is designed with arches and Cravings and is made of red sandstone. It shows the ancient way to provide water in air conditions.
The Red Fort is situated in old Delhi and was built by Emperor Shahjahan. Red Stone was used for the contraction of the fort and was made between 1638 and 1648. It has two gates, The Lahori Gate and The Delhi Gate. It also has buildings Such as: Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khas, Mothi Masjid, etc. Red Fort was once a house of Mughals for 200 years. On this Red Fort, our Indian Flag First time was hosted by our First Prime Minister on the day India got its independence.
The Jama Masjid was built between 1644 to 1656. It was made as the Mughal Capital central mosque in Shahjahanabad. Jama Masjid has three domes of white marble, red stone was used for the making of the mosque, it also has a spiral staircase through which you can go on the
top. Over 25000 people can perform the namaz at the same time.
Chandni Chowk got started in 1650 in the time of Shahjahan, which continues as it used to be from the past till today. It is the hub of Delhi where you can enjoy the shopping, the culture and the social life of Delhi. You can also enjoy the famous Delhi street food such as rabri, chaats etc. You can experience the ancient Mughal era over there.
Raj Ghat is made in the reminiscence of Mahatma Gandhi “The Father of Our Country”, In 1948 his cremation got gone here. The memorial has a black marble platform on which his name was written. There are also many other memorials of the freedom fighters, which remind you about India's freedom struggles and Indian history.
